about

"This is album is the closest to a real afro-futurism themed music project that producer/beatmaker Katrah-Quey can produce. Half-broken beat style, half-experimental electronic hip-hop; Ultra Afro Light is a difficult project to categorize because of its shifting and ambivalent concept. The project has a very nostalgic, adventurous, spacial feel that is rooted in hip-hop rhythms and experimental trip-hop flavors without sounding contrived.

The vocal features expand the instrumentals into another dimensional wavelength by providing warmth vocal tones, and extremely vivid poetic lyricism. MISSIONcontrol & ULTRAtheme are bookends for the musical journey providing a welcoming introduction, and a safe but woozy exit.

A very experimental project from Katrah-Quey that is important milestone in his musical journey that has a very different soundscape than many of his previous instrumental projects. Listen with an open mind during the sunrise or sunset.
