"Rampant Fire is a song about the darker recesses of the mind and the effects that trauma has on the psyche. The brain is an amazing organ capable of mimicry, memory and reasoning. When that system is disrupted in traumatic ways, be it mild or major trauma, it’s extraordinary what our minds will do to cope. Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is one of those coping mechanisms, multiple personalities built to shield the traumatized individual in many ways, and is characterized by severe emotional, physical or sexual abuse before a child reaches adulthood."
Lyrics:
I heard a voice inside my head/
She, I think she said/
Wait a minute (x2)
Have a biscuit/
Wait a minute (x2)
Have a biscuit/
I’m taking over/
It’s cold outside you’ll see/
I’m taking over/
Yeah, you’ll be safe with me (x2)
Breathe in such a rampant fire (x4)
Yeah, it’s a rampant fire (x3)
Breathe/
I heard a voice/
Feel someone linger here inside/
We, we shall abide/
Wait a minute (x2)
Have a biscuit/
Wait a minute (x2)
Have a biscuit/
He’s taking over/
It’s dark inside you’ll see/
He’s taking over/
You’ll be safe indeed/
You’ll be safe indeed/
Breathe in such a rampant fire (x4)
Yeah, it’s a rampant fire (x3)
Breathe/
I heard a voice/
Deep inside my head/
And when it spoke/
My mind it did bend/
Beneath the shadows/
It cries within the night/
And it the daylight/
It finds it’s prey alive/
Alive/
I heard a voice/
Deep inside my head/
And when it whispers/
The night/
I hear/
I cry/
I find myself alive/
